Jerry Sisk is the President and Owner of Mottaz & Sisk Injury Law, a premier workers’ compensation and personal injury law firm in Minnesota. Born and raised in Plymouth, Minnesota, Jerry is passionate about advocating for injured workers and ensuring they receive the compensation and respect they deserve. After graduating from Wayzata High School, he earned his degree at Michigan State University before obtaining his law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School.

Jerry began his legal career representing insurance companies but quickly realized his true passion was standing up for injured workers. This pivotal shift has fueled his mission to improve the Minnesota workers’ compensation system and fight for the fair treatment of employees across the state. Over the years, Jerry has become a recognized authority in workers’ compensation law, earning prestigious accolades such as Super LawyerRising Star, and the AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, which reflects his commitment to excellence and integrity in the legal field. His firm has been recognized as one of the Best Law Firms in Minnesota. Jerry has been fortunate to represent thousands of injured workers, including teachers, electricians, electrical workers, nurses, factory workers, professional athletes, and more.

In addition to his role as a dedicated attorney, Jerry serves as a Mediator/Arbitrator for the Minnesota Union Construction Workers’ Compensation Program, providing a fair and balanced approach to resolving disputes for injured at work employees. His leadership in the legal community is extensive, having served on the Executive Committees of both the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Minnesota Association for Justice. He currently chairs the Workers’ Compensation section of the Minnesota Association for Justice, where he helps shape the future of workers’ compensation law through advocacy and policy guidance. He has assisted in making pivotal changes to the work comp law, including increases in the average weekly wage, additional funding for home remodeling, increasing over 30 million more dollars a year for injured workers’ permanent partial disability claims, and many other improvements.

Jerry’s contributions to workers’ rights go beyond the courtroom. He co-authored The Injured Workers’ Guide to Minnesota Workers’ Compensation and Minnesota CLE’s Workers’ Compensation Deskbook, providing invaluable resources to those navigating the workers’ comp process. He frequently speaks in Minnesota and nationally on workers’ compensation issues. He also co-hosts the popular podcast, MN Work Comp Connection, where he shares insights, tips, and updates on Minnesota workers’ compensation law. Jerry and his wife, Cheri, are also starting a podcast, Lawyers In Disorder, which tackles the day-to-day struggles lawyers face when balancing work and life.

Outside of his legal career, Jerry is an amateur bodybuilder and holds a brown belt in judo, showcasing his passion for personal fitness and discipline. He also lives in Blaine, Minnesota, with his wife, three children, and their chocolate lab. Jerry enjoys coaching his kids’ sports teams and spending quality time with his family, believing that a balanced life makes him a stronger advocate for his clients.
